Delete your account
Updated:
You can delete your Bina account at any time. Deleting it cannot be undone.
How to delete it
In the iPhone app: choose Settings → Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out on every device.
If you cannot get into the app: send an e-mail titled “Delete account” from your account’s e-mail address to [email protected]. To check that the request really comes from you, we send a confirmation e-mail to the same address. After you confirm, we delete your account within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner, and tell you by e-mail.
First: if you are a building’s last manager
If you are a building’s only manager your account cannot be deleted; the building would be left without a manager. First make another member a manager (manager handover). The app tells you which buildings you are the last manager of.
What is deleted
- Your account data: your name, e-mail address, phone number, Apple link and language,
- all your sessions (you are signed out on every device) and your devices,
- your notification tokens and notification settings,
- all your building memberships.
What happens to the building’s records
A building’s dues, payment and expense records are that building’s accounts and are not deleted when your account is; the ledger has to stay whole. In those records your name is replaced by “Former resident” (“Former manager” if you were a manager, “Former member” for other members) and your unit. You can ask the building’s management to correct your data in those records.
What remains and for how long
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Files you uploaded (except receipts of recorded payments and expenses and announcement files, which are the building’s records) | 30 days, then deleted |
| Copies in database backups | At most 30 days, then deleted automatically |
| Statement-link access log (time only) | 90 days |
| E-mail correspondence about the deletion request | Kept to show the request was carried out |
Data on your phone
The app keeps the last screens you opened in a cache on the phone. To remove them, delete the app from your phone.
Questions: [email protected]. How your data is processed is explained in the privacy policy.
